Meet Our Team

Jason T. Bundy, MD

Dr. Jason Bundy is board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management. Dr. Bundy earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his general surgery internship, anesthesiology residency, and chronic pain management fellowship at Penn State University/Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA.

Dr. Bundy received several honors while at Penn State University/Hershey Medical Center, including: Scientific Writing/Research Awards from the Department of Anesthesiology, the Pennsylvania Anesthesiology Resident Research Conference, and the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research. As a medical student at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Dr. Bundy was awarded the Scott Neil Schwerk Fellowship, and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Traineeship and Holderness Medical Fellowship. Additionally, he was inducted into the John B. Graham Research Society.

Dr. Bundy has presented much of his research in the field of anesthesiology and pain management, now published in several peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Bundy is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and a member of the International Spine Intervention Society, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the Pennsylvania Medical Society.

Michael Fishman, MD

Michael Fishman, MD is an interventional pain management specialist who cares deeply about the accurate diagnosis, treatment, and surveillance of patients living with chronically painful conditions. He is the expert that patients and other physicians choose to evaluate difficult cases with a fresh eye and is known to formulate individualized ‘outside of the box’ cutting-edge treatment protocols. Dr. Fishman is a double-board-certified Anesthesiologist and Interventional Pain Specialist with extensive experience treating patients with a variety of painful conditions.

CLINICAL RESEARCH
Dr. Fishman has designed and participated in over thirty clinical trials in the field of pain medicine and neurostimulation. He has authored more than sixty peer-reviewed abstracts and publications in scientific literature and has presented his work at numerous local, regional, and international society meetings. The wide-ranging nature of pain care and pain treatments is reflected in the diversity of research being performed in his clinic.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH PAIN & SPINE SURGERY
Dr. Fishman is no stranger to pain, having suffered for many years from pinched nerve pain in his lumbar spine radiating down the leg (healed with epidural steroid injections, time, yoga, and selfcare). He also suffered a disc herniation in his neck requiring decompressive surgery. Dr. Fishman is not just an interventional pain physician but has experienced severe nerve pain himself. He will help you understand your diagnosis and treatment options, as well as design an individualized, state-ofthe-art treatment plan for your painful condition(s).

April E. Palmer, NP-C

April E. Palmer, NP-C is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. April earned her Diploma in Nursing from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. She then completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Alvernia University. April then went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Chamberlain College of Nursing. April received her nurse practitioner certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board.

She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, as well as the International Nurses Association.

Karen A. Kerns, PA-C


Karen A. Kerns, PA-C is a Certified Physician Assistant. Karen earned her Bachelor of Science, Physician Assistant Program at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA. She completed Medical Assisting and Office Management studies at the Community College of Philadelphia, PA.

Karen is a member of both the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants.

Thea James, MS, RD, LDN

Thea James, MS, RD, LDN, is a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist with a passion for working with patients to achieve their health and wellness goals. Most of her career has been spent working as a clinical nutrition manager for long-term care facilities where she developed personalized meal plans in alignment with her patients’ nutritional goals. She completed her dietetic internship and received her Master’s in Science at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Cedar Crest College. She is owner of Raisin’ the Bar Nutrition, LLC.
